The International Institute of Welding (IIW) is the highest international organization in the world welding industry. It was founded in 1948 and currently has 41 member countries. The International Welding Personnel Training and Qualification Certification System (IIW System) was established in 1995 and has 35 formal ANBs.
IIW is an international academic group and a non-profit organization. Its purpose is to organize welding technology exchanges among countries and promote the development of welding technology. It attaches great importance to academic and technical exchanges. The core content of the annual meeting is the theme academic conference and the academic conference of each professional committee. To this end, IIW has set up a technical committee under the Executive Committee, which is responsible for organizing academic exchanges and making recommendations to the Executive Committee on the establishment of new and abolished special committees.
